Pau- the royal city at the foot of the mountain
Beautiful beautiful Pau, the royal city at the foot of the Pyrenées. From here also came Jean-Babtiste Bernadotte, who was an officer in the French army and a colleague of Napoleon. He was then elected King of Sweden, so the connection between France and Sweden is very present in the city.
Pau is steeped in history and is a proud and beautiful city with breathtaking views of the mountains.
Here you can sit down in a café and just enjoy, or visit one of the many fantastic museums, listen to a wonderful concert or just stroll around the city and enjoy the history and beautiful architecture.
Pau is a city to just take to your heart and I return here again and again.
The range of restaurants is large and characterized by both French and Spanish cuisine. The vineyards around Saint Mont and Jurancon surround the town and with only an hour's drive you can ski in the mountains or swim in the Atlantic Ocean.
